| Jin xuan is the name given to a hybrid oolong plant that was cultivated in Taiwan for optimal production in the local growing conditions. The leaves from this strain produce a mild flavored oolong that is smooth in texture and typically less astringent. This season's crop is considerably oxidized, but just barely roasted. This results in a brew that is similar to a mellow green tea, yet maintaining the full-bodied flavor of an oolong. It works wonderfully as a "big mug brew" as well as a cold water brewed tea.
